FABULOUS REVIEW FROM THE INSTITUT FRANÇAISE

We welcomed Meriet Duncan as part of an educational programme aimed at schools in the UK raising awareness for the protection of Bees while learning French.

On the 19th of June, many schools who took part in the project came to the Ciné lumière, the cinema of the Institut français in London, in order to watch the film “Pollen” followed by a talk by Meriet about being a beekeeper.

Two consecutive screenings and talks took place on that day for a total of 300 pupils aged between 6 and 11 years old.

Prior to her arrival, the exchange with Meriet was really easy and efficient in order to organise all the logistics.

Meriet gave a very energetic talk about her work and the world of bees in general. It was explained to the young children in a clear manner keeping in mind all the technical aspects involving bees.

All the props she brought along allowed the pupils, among other things, to see and touch what a hive looks and feels like. Overall, she was very good at communicating with the pupils and they all seemed very interested and involved in the demonstrations/talks.

The only downside of the talks she gave was that we couldn’t allocate her more time in our busy schedule which was a shame!

We look forward to being able to work with her again in the future!
