MID BUCKS COUNTY HONEY SHOW

And so it was, that I packed up my goods from the Bucks Xmas Press Day and dashed off, well I went home, got changed, had a cup of tea and then dashed off if I’m honest, to the Mid Bucks County Honey Show. Again.. absolutely no idea what to expect except that a random meeting in the local shop about one month ago, early on a Sunday morning, while buying the paper ended up with me being given a table at the above show! As I said in my previous blog, Life’s what happens to you when you’re busy making other plans! So I went with the flow and turned up to a different Beekeepers club and was pointed in the direction of a lone table and told to put my stuff on it. Being a well mannered girl I did just that! I met up with a lot of people from The Chalfont Beekeepers club who had put in their various wares to the show… Honey being the main theme of the evening. The clue being in the Title! We then went in and listened, well I say listened, I struggled to hear what the man was saying, but it was a talk about Queen rearing, which if I’m honest was not the best of talks. However, I latterly learned the man had stepped in at the last minute as the original speaker was taken ill, so I forgive him his mumbling! I am sure it was an interesting talk if I could have heard even a quarter of what he was talking about.. I did, eventually move to the front, alas too late, just in time for the questions and answers. On the basis that I hadn’t heard the majority of his talks the questions remained as mysterious as his answers!

Moving on.. I cannot tell you how chuffed I was after the talk, when we were offered wine and nibbles and/or tea and cake, (I took the tea and cake option), with the response I got from my fellow beekeepers! Their interest in and support of the book was fantastic! All hail Tegan and her wonderful images, for without that it would be a simple sweet story.. Thank you Tegan a million times over! And thank you to all those who bought a copy of the book this evening, which took me by surprise. Again, I didn’t really know what to expect and certainly wasn’t expecting to sell any books so thank you to Sarah, the member of the Mid Bucks Beekeepers, who I met in the local shop who set all that up for me!

Massive boost when fellow beekeepers are so complimentary about the book!
